# Environments

When integrating with Getnet, you will work with three distinct environments:

* **Sandbox** for initial development and testing.
* **UAT** for final validations before production.
* **Production** environment for live transactions. Accessing the Production environment requires completing a formal homologation process.

## Sandbox

The Sandbox is a self-service testing environment designed to help you get started quickly. Its purpose is for initial development, exploring API capabilities, and testing basic transaction flows without affecting any live data.

Remember that the Sandbox is a simulation environment and not a complete representation of the production system. You can generate and manage your own credentials on the API Keys section of the [Getnet portal](https://www.pre.globalgetnet.com).

* **Purpose:** Test API integration, simulate sales, and validate the authentication flow without involving real money or valid cards.
* **Access:** Open. You can create an account for free on the Getnet Developers portal and generate your credentials (client\_id and client\_secret) instantly.
* **Base URL (Endpoint):** [https://api-sbx.globalgetnet.com](https://api-sbx.pre.globalgetnet.com)
* **Features:**
  * Uses fictitious data (test cards provided in the documentation).
  * Simulates approval and denial responses.
  * Does not generate financial settlement

## UAT / Pre-production

At Getnet, the equivalent of UAT (User Acceptance Testing) or pre-production. This environment is used to validate whether the merchant’s application is ready to go live, ensuring that business flows (not just the code) are correct.

* **Purpose:** Final validation before production. This is where merchants and developers confirm whether the account settings (branches, enabled payment types) reflect the actual contract.
* **Access:** Restricted. Credentials are usually provided after the onboarding process begins or upon request to the integration support team.

Often, for smaller integrators, validation is done directly in the Sandbox and then moved to Production. The UAT environment is more common for large accounts or partnerships (TEF, Marketplaces) that require certification.

## Production

The Production environment is where you will process real, live transactions for your customers. Access is granted only after you have successfully completed the homologation process, performed final production tests, and have a signed contract in place. The highly sensitive Production API keys will be securely shared with you by the Getnet integration team upon final approval

* **Purpose:** Process real payments from end customers.
* **Access:** Granted only after the commercial affiliation is approved (contract signed) and technical validation is completed.
* **Base URL (Endpoint):** [https://api.globalgetnet.com](https://api.globalgetnet.com)
* **Security:** Requires a digital certificate and TLS 1.2. Production credentials are different from those used in the Sandbox and UAT environments.

## Change between enviroments

Within the Global API, we provide a testing tool that allows transactional testing of payloads without the need for a dedicated interface. The goal is to enable information exchange directly through this environment.
As shown in the video, it is possible to perform tests across three different environments.
